STAFF LINE RELATIONSHIPS
Responsible at CES to Executive Director and Director of Ancillary Services.
Responsible when in the District to Superintendent or their designee.
Responsible for no one.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Two years experience in school setting.
Desired qualifications include advance degree in related field.
Licensure by Public Education Department.
Licensure by the New Mexico Regulation and Licensing Board.
Able to obtain Medicaid Provider Number and NPI.
Commensurate with ability, experience, education, and similar positions in member school districts.
Certified school year position with benefits identified in Policy Manual.
DUTIES, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide the use of purpose activity with individuals who are limited by physical injury or illness, psychosocial dysfunction, developmental or learning disabilities, poverty and cultural differences to maximize independence, prevent disability and maintain health.
Evaluation, treatment, and consultation individual or in groups to include:
Teaching daily living skills.
Developing perceptual motor skills and sensory integrative functioning.
Developing play skills and prevocational and leisure capabilities.
Using specifically designed crafts and exercises to enhance functional performance.
Administering and interpreting tests.
Adapting environments for the handicapped.
Maintain appropriate records.
